Our most important responsibility is to provide the students with a challenging, high quality and well rounded education in medical sciences. Like all public universities, UHS and its faculty are tasked to serve as creators of knowledge, sources of inspiration and innovation, and generators of new ideas. Our 16 medical institutes are also striving towards this end by producing outstanding work.

UHS is also imparting high quality postgraduate training in Basic Sciences to medical graduates. The Ph.D scholars produced by the University will definitely help improve the existing standards of medical education and applied research in the province, a neglected field in the past. The University also offers educational opportunities par excellence in Bio-Medical Engineering and Allied Health Sciences.

Establishment of resource laboratory is another milestone and will be extremely useful in meeting the requisite standards of research in Molecular Biology.

The Board of Governors supports the University by providing leadership in analyzing, monitoring and anticipating trends in higher education and development in the field of health sciences.
