Punjab Institute of Cardiology is a 292 bedded tertiary care hospital providing nationwide comprehensive cardiac care services for the last 17 years. Punjab Institute of Cardiology is also a center for post graduate training to doctors & paramedics in the field of cardiology and cardiac surgery besides diagnostic interventional and surgical facilities.

It is also actively involved in research and publications. Being a center of excellence in cardiology, Punjab Institute of Cardiology is treating 134552 patients in OPD, performing 3631 Nuclear Medicine Tests, 9559 Angiographies and 1490 surgeries per annum.

Professor Dr. Jawad Sajid Khan, renowned cardiac surgeon of Pakistan is the Head of the Institution. He is the overall Incharge of the Institution and Dean of Cardiac Surgery Department. In recognition of his meritorious services in the field of Cardiac Surgery, Dr. Jawad has been awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
