Role of UHS ORIC in COVID-19

1. With continuous effort and dedication able to won HEC Rapid Research Grant related to COVID - 19 worth PKR 10,306,728/- in August 2020 for UHS Faculty member.

2. Played active part in UHS Board meeting for approval of PROTECT TRIAL and get permission to utilize University ORIC Research Funds / budget Allocations.

3. Member UHS rate negotiation committee for all the procurements related to COVID - 19.

4. Submitted concept Proposals to tap available assistance grants on the areas that need support COVID-19 response demanded by Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Govt. of the Punjab for further submission to P&D Board for onward submission to Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Islamabad for further taking up the matter with Asian Development Bank.

5. Attended and represented UHS in Showcasing Technologies in Post COVID-19 Scenario. Took active part in National Post COVID-19 Commercialization Plan organized by H.E Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan.

6. Member Committee to design and produce face masks in bulk according to the relevant guidelines in wake of current outbreak of COVID-19.

7. Member Committee to provide Personal Protection Equipment {PPE} to healthcare professionals and medical institutions on no profit no loss basis who are directly involved in treating COVID-19 patients.
