1. One-Day Workshop

Title: Integrating Behavioral Sciences in Healthcare and Medical Education

Target Audience: Teaching faculty of Behavioural Sciences and representatives from Medical Education Departments of affiliated institutes.

Summary:

The Department of Behavioural Sciences organized a one-day workshop aimed at equipping faculty with innovative teaching and assessment methods in line with the emerging modular system in medical education. The workshop addressed post-COVID challenges, the impact of regional and global crises such as the Gaza conflict on patient behaviour, and the role of artificial intelligence in learning. Sessions highlighted psychomotor skills required for future clinicians, the integration of behavioural sciences with public health and medical education, and strategies for strengthening the M.Phil. program. With 30–40 participants, the event provided a dynamic platform for discussion, capacity-building, and shaping the future of behavioural sciences education.

2. 1st Department Specific Faculty Council – Inter-Institutional Collaboration (DSFC IIC)

Title: From Classroom to Clinic: Integrating Behavioral Sciences for Tomorrow’s Medicine
Date: 10th September 2025
Participants: 24 on-campus, 15 online (affiliated institutes)
Keynote Speakers: Prof. Dr. Altaf Qadir, Prof. Dr. Sumira Qambar Bukhari, Dr. Faiza Ather, Dr. Saqib Rabbani

Summary:

The inaugural DSFC–IIC meeting brought together faculty members across institutions to discuss restructuring the Behavioural Sciences curriculum. Key agenda items included aligning curriculum hours with PMDC guidelines, creating separate modules for Behavioural Sciences and Psychiatry, and integrating clinical rotations into Medicine, Surgery, and allied subjects. The council emphasized the importance of competency-based, clinically relevant training, and identified the need for structured faculty development programs. Concrete action items were assigned, with follow-ups planned through upcoming DSFC meetings. The collaborative spirit of the session reinforced UHS’s pioneering role in embedding behavioural sciences into clinical practice.
